Welcome to the August Edition of The Hurlston Hall Hub
Welcome to the August edition of the Hurlston Hall Hub — your monthly update keeping you connected with everything happening across the Club.
August promises to be another exciting month, with two of our biggest annual celebrations taking place as we welcome members for Captains Day and Lady Captain’s Day. We wish both Captains a fantastic day and hope everyone taking part enjoys the competitions, camaraderie and traditions that make these events such an important part of club life.
We are also pleased to share updates on a number of exciting developments, including our plans to introduce electric vehicle charging points at the Club, helping us continue to improve our facilities and support more sustainable travel for our members.
Inside this edition, you’ll find important membership updates, upcoming competition details, reminders on course etiquette, and news from around the Club. We also share highlights from our recent New Members Evening, which was a great opportunity to welcome new members, answer questions and help members build connections within Hurlston Hall.

Electric Vehicle Charging Points
We are delighted to share some news with our members.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the club’s facilities and supporting more sustainable travel, we will be installing six electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the coming months. These will be located to the right of the golf range building, providing a convenient charging facility for members and visitors with electric vehicles.

At this stage, we do not yet have a confirmed installation date, but planning is progressing well. We will keep members informed as the project develops and provide updates on key milestones and the anticipated completion date.
We appreciate your patience while this improvement is carried out and look forward to offering this valuable new facility.

Well done to all our members who took part marshalling in the Open Championships in July. Thank you all for giving up your time so generously and for being such outstanding ambassadors for Hurlston Hall. A message from the Club's Chairman, John Baccino.
"Representing Hurlston Hall on golf's grandest stage is a huge responsibility, and your brilliant performance, professionalism, and enthusiasm did our club proud. We have received fantastic feedback regarding the efficiency and dedication of our marshalling team.
A special note of thanks must go to Ian Rowlands and Martin Isherwood. Their fantastic leadership, organisation, and guidance ensured that our entire team operated seamlessly throughout the week."
Congratulations to our 2025 Captains
for their incredible achievement for Derian House
The generous donation of £21,310.38 from Hurlston Hall Golf Club will make a meaningful contribution towards the refurbishment of Derian House’s Holiday Lodges, helping to create welcoming, comfortable, and accessible spaces where children with life-limiting conditions and their families can enjoy precious time together. These lodges provide families with the opportunity to step away from the challenges of everyday life, relax in a peaceful environment, and create lasting memories. Thanks to the incredible support of Past Captains Rachel and Roy, all the members of Hurlston Hall Golf Club and everyone who contributed to this remarkable fundraising effort, the refurbished lodges will continue to offer a much-needed place of respite, comfort, and togetherness for families for many years to come.

A portion of this incredible donation will also support our brand new service, Derian Wishes, which will help to create magical moments and unforgettable experiences for our children and young people. Whether it’s making a special dream come true, arranging a memorable day out, or providing a treasured family experience, Derian Wishes offers opportunities that bring joy, laughter, and lasting memories at a time when they matter most.
Again, a huge thank you to all the members of Hurlston Hall. We really are so grateful.”
Kind Regards
Kerry Salmon Derian House Community Fundraiser
Thank You – Divoting Afternoon
A huge thank you to the 6 members and their partners who gave up their time to take part in our recent Divoting Afternoon. It was fantastic to see members on the course helping to repair divots.
We’re very lucky to have such a supportive membership, and events like this really highlight the great community we have at the club. Thank you once again to everyone who attended and helped out.
New Members Evening
Back in June, we held a New Members Evening, giving our new members the opportunity to find out more about life at the club and meet fellow members.
The evening covered a range of topics, including club competitions, handicaps and upcoming events. It was also a great chance for new members to meet each other and find new playing partners.
A big thank you all members who attended and members from the club's committee who helped make the evening a success.
Following the positive feedback, we are now planning another meeting that will be open to all members, providing an opportunity to share updates, hear from staff, ask questions and stay connected with everything happening at the club.
More details will be announced soon.
Members Notices
As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting the value and enjoyment of membership at the club, we have increased the joining fee for all new members to £750.
This change reflects our focus on maintaining the quality of the member experience, ensuring the club continues to offer excellent access to the course and facilities, while supporting the long-term sustainability of the club. We believe it is important that membership remains something to be valued, benefiting both existing and future members alike.
From now on, any current member who successfully refers a new member will receive a £250 credit to their club account as a thank you for their recommendation.
If you know someone who would enjoy becoming part of our club, we'd be happy to hear from you.
CLUB NOTICE Slow Play Monitoring and Action

Club Buggy Hire
Due to the high demand for club buggies, we kindly ask all members hiring a club buggy to return it to the Golf Shop soon after their round. Returning the buggy promptly allows us to prepare it for the next booking and helps ensure other members can enjoy their round without unnecessary delays. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Membership Benefit Update
If you've recently renewed your membership, your annual benefits (including guest passes, leisure club passes, complimentary lesson vouchers, and any other membership benefits) have now been renewed.
We're currently waiting for a new delivery of the physical vouchers to arrive at the club. In the meantime, if you'd like to use any of your membership benefits, simply speak to a member of the Golf Shop team, who will be happy to book these for you until the booklets arrive.

To help everyone enjoy their round and keep play running smoothly, we'd appreciate your support with the following:
Please ensure all players have a booked tee time.
Check in at the Golf Shop before heading to the 1st tee.
If you're bringing guests, please check them in at the Golf Shop before play.
All rounds should begin from the 1st tee unless otherwise directed by the Golf Shop.
